WSUS urun grubu onumuzdeki gunlerde yeni Windows Guncelleme Ajanini yayinlayacagini duyurdu, WSUS ve Windows guncelleme servisleri ayni ajani kullandigindan, Windows Guncelleme sayfasini ziyaret edecek olan kullanicilarda bu gincellemeyi otomatik olarak edinebilecek.

Bu guncellemeyi edinmemis istemciler mevcut surumu kullanmaya devam edebilecekler, Windows guncelleme ajanlari geriye donuk destekli olduklarindan , yeni ajana sahip istemciler WSUS ile sorunsuz calismaya devam edebilecekler.

Guncellemeyi direkt olarak indirmek isterseniz http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;946928 adresinden isletim sisteminize uygun olan ajani indirip kurabilirsinizde veya bu paketleri uygulama dagitimi icin kullanabilirsiniz, ornegin SMS ile.

How to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 7

To disable automatic delivery of Internet Explorer 7.0 to your computers via WSUS or Windows Updates you need to create a registry record , if you are unfamiliar with registry editing I recommend you to use the toolkit provided by Microsoft, that you can find in this article.

Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerSetup7.0
Key value name: DoNotAllowIE70

If you don't give any value to DoNotAllowIE70 key or you set it to 0 (zero) it won't prevent automatic installation of IE70, to prevent automatic installations of IE70 you should set it to 1 (one). It will be valid till you change it. But it won't prevent you to install IE70 manually or by other deployment methods like SMS.

If you are unfamiliar with registry editing or you don't want to take the risk of editing I recommend you to use

With this tool you can change this setting on remote computers too.

Meanwhile you can apply this settings by using group policies too, all you have to do is using the Adm template that comes with the Toolkit above, I will write and show how can you do that in a few days.

DoNotAllowIE70 anahtarina deger vermezseniz veya 0 (Sifir) yaparsaniz engelleme olmayacaktir, degerini 1 (Bir) yapar iseniz siz bu degeri degistirene kadar engelleme aktif olacaktir.

Ancak bu deger sizin elle kurulum yapmaniza da engel olmayacaktir.

Eger bu isi daha kolay sekilde hazir bir script ile yapmak isterseniz Microsoft'un yayinladigi kucuk araci kullanabilirsiniz. :

WSUS sunucunuzu kurmaya baslamadan once sunucunuzda asagida listelemis oludugum guncellemelerin yuklu olduguna emin olunuz. Eger guncellemeler sunucunuz yeniden baslatmanizi isterse lutfe bu islemi ertelemeyiniz ve baska bir kurulum veya guncelleme yapmadan yeniden baslatiniz.

Windows Installer 4.5 is available

Microsoft has released version 4.5 of Windows installer last week, new version has several new features as well:

Multiple package transaction

In a multiple package transaction, you can create a single transaction from multiple packages. In a multiple package transaction, a chainer is used to dynamically include packages in the transaction. If one or more of the packages do not install as expected, you can roll back the installation.

Embedded UI handler

You can embed a custom user interface (UI) handler in the Windows Installer package. This makes a custom UI easier to integrate. You can also invoke an embedded UI handler from the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel. Or, you can invoke an embedded UI handler during a Windows Installer repair process.

Embedded chainer

You can use the embedded chainer to add packages to a multiple package transaction. You can use an embedded chainer to enable installation events across multiple packages. For example, you can enable install-on-demand events, repair events, and uninstall events across multiple packages.

Update supersedence resiliency

This feature lets you correct for changes in the FeatureComponent table during supersedence.

Shared component patching resiliency during uninstall

This feature makes sure that the most recent version of a component is available to all products.

Custom action execution on update uninstall

This feature lets an update add or change a custom action so that the custom action is called when an update is uninstalled.
